At Clarke International University (CIU), we aim at providing a lifetime experiential learning opportunity to international students with a major focus on health from a developing country perspective. Our International Field Experience Program (IFEP) is a non-degree program open to all students and custom-designed to suit individual needs and objectives. The program provides an opportunity for students to work with local communities, volunteer on different projects, develop new skills and experience real-life health dynamics in resource-constrained settings.
Why choose CIU for your IFE Program?
The IFE program at CIU is conducted in a conducive and flexible learning environment with highly experienced mentors, a strong and supportive network of peers and supervisors to ensure that students’ objectives are met. The experiences from communities where students work are life-changing as they depict a true picture of global disparities in health.
CIU does not only focus on students under its IFE program but also health professionals who may be willing to volunteer as teachers and share their expertise with University students and or members of the communities where we work. This is paramount in building local capacity and knowledge sharing as a mechanism of advancing scholarship.
Overall, our team of highly professional and experienced personnel strives to:
- Provide students with practical experience of working in a resource-constrained setting
- Encourage shared innovations to improve the health of disadvantaged communities
- Promote inter-cultural medical education
- Promote institutional partnerships and collaborations in research and capacity building
